About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient for an exciting job in Bronx, NY.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum three (3) years of professional coding experience.
• Strong inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.
• Experience with inpatient and Emergency Department (ED) coding.
• Proficiency with EPIC and 3M/HDS coding systems.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.
• RHIA or RHIT credentials accepted, as applicable.
• Prior experience working with Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in both inpatient and outpatient coding.
• Additional AHIMA certifications (RHIA, RHIT, CCS).

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient medical coding in an acute care hospital setting.
• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-9-CM, and CPT-4 codes.
• Utilize EPIC and 3M/HDS coding applications.
• Review medical records for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with coding regulations, payer requirements, and federal billing guidelines.
• Research and resolve coding-related issues.
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS).
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards with minimal supervision.
• Provide support for coder training as needed.
