About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant at JHOC Dermatology clinic provides specialty care that includes procedures and responsibilities specific to our patient population. Duties include but are not limited to: preparation and clean-up of skin and nail biopsies, tissue handling, assisting in Dermatology surgery, supply management, and real-time documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program required
• Completion of CMA certification with the credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire
• Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire

Nice To Haves

• At least 3 years of clinical experience
• At least 1 year of oncology experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Preparation and clean-up of skin and nail biopsies
• Tissue handling
• Assisting in Dermatology surgery
• Supply management
• Real-time documentation
• Functioning in General Dermatology, Dermatology Surgery, and Nursing Resource Center (NRC)
• Responding to provider messages both electronically and through telephone calls
• Patient chart management
• Committee and project involvement
