Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Pulaski is a 95-bed facility, including 60 licensed acute care beds and 25 skilled nursing beds, fully accredited by The Joint Commission. It provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services supported by a diverse and experienced medical staff. Clinical services include a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, a 12-bed Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, a Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, five operating rooms, and two endoscopy suites. Diagnostic imaging capabilities include MRI, CT, PET/CT, mammography, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and X-ray. The 13-bay Emergency Department treats more than 15,000 patients annually. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • National Medical Assistant Certification
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Handle with Care certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Monitors and records vital signs, intake and output, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.
  • Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.
  • Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
  • Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
  • Manages tech desk operations and assists with maintaining efficient department throughput.
  • Documents patient care and activities in accordance with hospital and unit standards.
  • Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
