About The Position

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join their team. This role is essential for patient visits, involving accompanying the dermatologist, and fostering a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists. The position is primarily based out of Lake Mary, FL, and requires a flexible associate available to work 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate should be willing to travel to Orlando, Winter Park, and Melbourne locations as needed and be available to work Saturdays. Work hours are between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with shifts varying to ensure a full 40-hour workweek, potentially including two 12-hour shifts and two 6-hour shifts, four 10-hour shifts, or five 8-hour shifts. Schedules are provided in advance based on operational needs, and flexibility is required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
  • Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Must possess organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Post High School education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred
  • 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients and documents all vital information
  • Scribing information for the dermatologist
  • Providing post op wound care to patients
  • Drawing blood and suture removal
  • Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Surgical photographs
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Excisions
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Electrodessication and curettage
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: I&D
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Phototherapy
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Injections
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Koh preps
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Trichograms
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Tzank preps
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Dermabrasion
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Patch testing
  • Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Blue light
