About The Position

Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant required
- Must have experience in Occupational Medicine
Responsibilities
- Answer workers' compensation correspondence
- Maintain medical records and work status forms
- Scan and file documentation appropriately
- Handle workers' comp requests from adjusters, the state, employers, and injured patients
- Contact insurance companies to obtain correct billing and claim numbers
- Schedule new and returning workers' compensation patients
- Complete required work status forms
- Charting
- Fax work status forms and prescriptions
- Enter new company protocols
- Stay current on state laws and regulations related to workers' compensation claims
- Schedule follow-up appointments
- Check patients in and out
- Obtain patient vitals
- Enter referrals into tracking spreadsheets
- Perform suture removals and wound dressings
- Apply splints
- Draw blood and obtain other specimens as ordered by providers
- Administer injections
- Remain flexible for cross-training
- Occasionally assist with tasks outside the normal scope of practice
- Observe, identify, and take initiative to move the organization forward in a way that reflects our organizational values
