About The Position
Overview We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant , also referred to as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) . Certified Medical Assistants will support both clinical and administrative tasks, such as taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, updating patient records, and coordinating appointments in our o rthopedic c linic . Medical Assistants will work under the supervision of physicians and nurses in a fast-paced environment, helping to deliver exceptional patient care and ensure smooth clinical operations. Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
- Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Diploma.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Minimum one year work experience in public contact job.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience in health care preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for exams by taking vitals, updating medical history, and noting current symptoms
- Assist with clinical procedures such as EKGs, injections, wound care, and immunizations
- Collect and process lab specimens including blood draws, throat swabs, and urinalysis
- Administer medications, coordinate referrals and follow-ups, and document care in the EMR
- Provide patient education, support infection control, and help with scheduling and front office tasks
