About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the assigned clinic or physician office. This role works under the direction of a physician or licensed nurse to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while supporting daily clinic operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent required
- Active CCMA, CMA, or RMA required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days of hire
- Strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress clinical environment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Attention to detail and a patient-focused mindset
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and/or nurses with patient assessments and treatments
- Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to the clinical team
- Accurately document patient care, treatments, and observations in the medical record
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and medical supplies, including cleaning, stocking, reordering, and troubleshooting
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as assigned, including patient registration, scheduling, reception, filing, and data entry
- Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations and patient care
