About The Position

St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado, a Level I Trauma Center and home to Flight For Life Colorado, is seeking Certified Medical Assistants. The hospital provides a full range of medical specialties and healthcare services, having achieved Magnet designation in 2023 and numerous other awards and accreditations. Certified Medical Assistants are crucial for delivering whole-person care and are highly valued team members. The hospital offers a Medical Assistant Clinical Ladder for growth and development and has established an MA Apprenticeship program. This position involves a supportive role, facilitating communication and collaboration with the healthcare team and patients/families to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. MAs promote patient health, well-being, and safety according to patient care standards and the State Medical Practice Act. They perform clinical tasks as directed by authorized healthcare providers, assist with front office duties and scheduling, and are responsible for accurate chart documentation and medical record maintenance. MAs are also expected to attend/conduct in-service presentations and seminars for professional growth and demonstrate accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Medical Assistant certification or registration from approved organization (American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA), American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Healthcare Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT))
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the delegation of medical services as defined by State Medical Practice Act
  • Perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by an authorized health care provider in accordance with our Physician Group Scope of Practice
  • Assist with front office duties and scheduling of tests and/or patient appointments
  • Accurate chart documentation and medical record maintenance
  • Attend / conduct in-service presentations and seminars to facilitate personal and professional growth
  • Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values
