About The Position

Located in beautiful Northern California, Adventist Health Clear Lake has been a leading healthcare provider in Lake County since 1968. We are comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and provide primary and specialty care services at clinics throughout the Lake, Butte & Tehama County areas to best serve our communities. Job Summary: Assists in planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care for patients and in coordinating nursing care activities with other health care disciplines under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed vocational nurse (LVN). Works as a team with other staff members to achieve patient care objectives. Identifies and seeks solutions for any clinical problems and reports them to the affected department. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution: Required Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT): Required Essential Functions: Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers. Assists the physician with office procedures: preparing instruments needed for suturing, providing equipment and solutions for biopsies, providing supplies needed for splinting, etc. Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician. Performs audiometry and vision testing. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements

• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution: Required
