About The Position

Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your career while working with an extraordinary team? At Merakey, we put heart and soul into everything we do.   We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team in Philadelphia, PA 19132 at the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) walk-in clinic.   This role is full-time, Monday - Friday 10:30a - 7:00p with an hourly rate of $23.63.   The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) is a walk-in clinic for adults needing non-crisis same-day care in North Philadelphia. Consider it “urgent care” for individuals experiencing emotional or behavioral health concerns. Individuals will participate in resolution-focused services and aftercare planning to prepare for long-term recovery and connection to ongoing care. We serve individuals regardless of income or insurance status. Our services do not replace the need for ongoing mental health care; rather, we aim to reduce avoidable visits to crisis centers and emergency rooms by helping people get the mental health care they need when they need it. The CMA provides cross-clinic support that includes assisting with: intake processes, medical screenings, medication administration and medical case management. Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary BHUCC team to ensure strong continuity of care and work to create and maintain a supportive and empathetic environment for individuals and help them access the care they need.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant is required.
  • Familiarity with medical screenings, biometric assessments, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Ability to administer medications, draw blood for labs and manage medication-related tasks, under the direction of a CRNP or prescriber.
  • Detail-oriented and organized to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with individuals and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in behavioral health, urgent care, or similar environment is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidate is preferred.
