About The Position

Are you a Certified Medical Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact supporting military service members and their families? Join a dedicated healthcare team at Oak Harbor Naval Base, WA, delivering high-quality clinical support services in a premier military treatment facility. We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to serve as a central coordinator of clinical activities in support of the Defense Health Agency.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or current registration by American Medical Technologists (AMT) or other formal program.
  • One (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination rooms prior to patients' arrival and maintain examination room stock levels.
  • Check patients' vital signs including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter readings.
  • Obtain and document patients' current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures as ordered by providers.
  • Collect and document patient information, update patient records, and verify insurance information.
  • Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
  • Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinical policies.
  • Provide a positive experience for patients, answer phones, and address patient inquiries.
