Our mission is to provide our clients with compassionate and encouraging counseling leading to a renewed sense of hope and the ability to make positive changes and live more satisfying lives. Cascade currently has six treatment locations in Lewis County. The Cascade Evaluation and Treatment Center provides intensive mental health and psychiatric services for adults 18 and older. This 22-bed facility has 16 beds on the evaluation and treatment unit, and 6 beds on our crisis stabilization unit. Now open, new to the ETC, an 18-chair Crisis Relief Services Unit! The Cascade Evaluation and Treatment Center is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team! An integral part of the inpatient nursing team, ensuring client flow and providing quality client care in a safe and timely manner on the Evaluation and Treatment Unit (ETU) and the Crisis stabilization Unit (CSU). SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Full-time (40-hours) Thursday - Sunday 9:00am - 7:30pm Part-time (36-hours) Monday - Wednesday 7:00am - 7:30pm This position is eligible for $2/hour shift differential for eligible hours on Swing an NOC shifts and hours worked on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. PAY SCALE: $24.60 - $30.00 DOE

Requirements

  • Must have Washington State Certified Medical Assistant Credential.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Must be able to pass WA State Patrol background check, national background check may be required if have not lived in WA state consecutively the last three years.
  • Must be able to represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to enter information into a computer network system.
  • Must comply with agency policies and procedures.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to gain access to all types of buildings and residences regardless of the structures’ handicapped accessibility or lack thereof.
  • Must maintain current home telephone and address on file with the HR office.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one-year experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Successful completion of MOAB training (Management of Aggressive Behavior). Including but not limited to pivoting, knee squats, shuffling front and backwards, assisting a person to the floor, stabilizing people in standing, seated, lying and supine positions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and initial pre-screen intake packets from the emergency room and other referral sources.
  • Gathering all information for RN and Provider to be able to decide on acceptance.
  • Ensuring admissions and screenings are done in a timely manner.
  • Manage phone calls for bed placement and manage incoming calls for nursing inquires.
  • Coordinate insurance services/ prior authorizations.
  • Administer and monitor psychotropic medications under the supervision as delegated by a licensed RN or prescriber.
  • Gather medical history information, & vital signs as directed by a registered nurse or prescriber, support licensed nursing and medical staff with medication management as needed including oral and injectable medications as prescribed.
  • Ensures daily charting, progress notes on care of clinical and behavioral observations of clients are submitted, completed correctly, and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate ordering and reporting of labs and lab results to prescribers.
  • Ensure that ethical and professional standards of practice are maintained.
  • Maintain medical records and provide reports in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ongoing commitment to increasing competence and knowledge within the mental health field.
