CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT- DUKE WOMENS HEALTH HERITAGE   Job Location: 3000 Rogers Rd in Wake Forest NC   Job Summary: We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients at Duke Womens Health Heritage in Wake Forest, NC.

Requirements

  • Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
  • High school or GED graduation required.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
  • BLS required

Responsibilities

  • Take medical histories and record vital signs, charge posting, order entry.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures; perform bladder scans, void trials, catherizations; Document and communicate pertinent information.
  • Assist the physician during the examination and procedures.
  • Collect/prepare laboratory and blood specimens; perform Point of Care laboratory tests.
  • Sterilize medical instruments using High Level Disinfection and Autoclave as appropriate.
  • Review medical and surgical instructions with patients and/or caregivers, and document in patient record.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
  • Daily clinic preparation process – QC and safety checks.
  • Monitor and/or order clinic supplies, fill out insurance and FMLA forms.
  • Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician.
