About The Position

Certified Medical Assistant Euola, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Occupational Health team in Richmond, VA. Duties and Responsibilities Greet patients handle telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries regarding treatment or prescription refills to make sure each patient has a great experience. Prepare exam rooms for patients, ensuring the room is well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature for the patient. Discuss patient information, medical history, and the reason for their visit to share with the healthcare staff. Take the patient's vital signs including their pulse, body temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure and record it in their chart. Assist healthcare staff with examinations by handing the appropriate medical instrument and supplies to the physician, positioning the patient, and helping with other tasks as needed. Draw blood and prepare blood samples for laboratory tests. Fill out the appropriate insurance forms and document patient appointments, listing all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions on the patient records.

Requirements

  • Must be Certified Medial Assistant with skills/training required by Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Completed an accredited medical assistance program.
  • Must have at least 12 months experience within the last 36 months at an outpatient clinical setting.
  • Possess basic computer skills to complete administrative tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service skills
