Requirements

  • Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCT)
  • High school diploma.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
  • Knowledge of clinical skill techniques, procedures, medical diagnoses, and treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Take and record patient medical histories.
  • Measure and monitor vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate).
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist healthcare providers during procedures.
  • Administer injections, vaccines, and medications as directed by physicians.
  • Collect and prepare lab specimens (e.g., blood, urine) for testing.
  • Perform basic diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, vision tests).
  • Sterilize and maintain medical instruments.
  • Provide patients with instructions for medications, procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Educate patients on health management and preventive care.
