About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant position at RWJBarnabas Health in Union City, NJ, is a full-time role focused on providing essential clinical and clerical support within a primary care setting. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a physician or other health practitioners, performing a variety of routine tasks that are critical to patient care and operational efficiency. In this position, the Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for taking and recording vital signs, obtaining medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with minor procedures as directed. The CMA will also handle clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and processing prescription refills. This role is pivotal in enhancing the overall patient experience, ensuring safety, and maintaining patient privacy. The CMA will act as a practice ambassador, contributing positively to the practice's environment and patient interactions. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a consistent day shift that allows for a balanced work-life schedule. The Certified Medical Assistant will be expected to maintain a neat and sanitary environment, prepare examination rooms, and ensure that all necessary instruments and equipment are ready for use. This role is integral to the practice's operations, requiring a proactive approach to patient care and administrative tasks.
