About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant 1 at Baylor Scott & White Health plays a crucial role in the delivery of healthcare services to patients under the supervision of a physician. This position is located in the Primary Care Clinic in Lakeway, Texas, and operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM. The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for a variety of patient care activities that are essential for maintaining the quality of care provided to patients. These activities include the maintenance of clinical records and documentation, administering medications, giving injections, and taking vital signs. In this role, the Certified Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients, ensuring that treatment rooms are prepared and cleaned after procedures. They are responsible for accompanying patients from the waiting room to the examination area and preparing them for their appointments. This includes interviewing patients to gather medical history and recording this information accurately in the patients' medical records. The Certified Medical Assistant also measures and records vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and prepares patients for various examinations and tests, including x-rays. Additionally, the Certified Medical Assistant performs routine patient testing, processes electrocardiograms, and collects blood specimens and urine samples. They are also responsible for preparing and administering medications, injections, and vaccinations as directed by the physician, while ensuring the safety and comfort of the patient. The role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to observe and report any abnormalities in patients' conditions to the healthcare provider.
