About The Position
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the Breast Surgery team in Livingston, New Jersey. This full-time position involves performing routine clinical and clerical tasks under the direction of a physician or other health practitioner. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will play a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience by ensuring safety, privacy, and effective communication. The CMA will be responsible for a variety of clinical duties, including taking and recording vital signs, obtaining medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, drawing blood, processing prescription refills, and assisting with minor procedures as directed by the physician or health practitioner. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the CMA will also handle clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and preparing lab requests. The role requires effective communication with patients and other healthcare providers, ensuring that all patient information is accurately recorded and maintained. The CMA will also be responsible for preparing examination rooms, arranging instruments and equipment, and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. This position is essential in supporting the overall operations of the practice and contributing to the quality of care provided to patients.
