The Medical Assistant, certified performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System medical practice that assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly.

Requirements

  • Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
  • High school or GED graduation required.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.  Please specify on resume which certification you have, certification number, and expiration date.
  • BLS required

Responsibilities

  • Room Patients and intake to include medications, history and vital signs. Complete orders as per provider:
  • Set Up/Assisting with Procedures
  • Simple Wound Care s Suture/Staple removal
  • Vital signs including Pulse oximetry
  • Preparation/Labeling of medication for administration by provider
  • Prepare and assist with procedures
  • Sclerotherapies
  • Endovenous Laser Ablations
  • Radiofrequency Laser Ablations
  • Review future clinic schedules, call patients for upcoming appointments and procedures
  • Clean and stock rooms. Monitor for supply and medication expirations dates. Unbox ordered supplies
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
