Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ year of related work experience, OR
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with completion of an externship, OR
• 6+ months relevant experience within an AdventHealth facility.
• Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following: AAMA, AAH, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NPS, NHA.
• Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients and performs a wide variety of patient care activities.
• Adheres to state, federal and organizational guidelines to ensure quality care and patient safety.
• Maintains organization and facilitates patient flow.
• Actively participates in outstanding customer service.
• Accepts responsibility in maintaining respectful relationships.
• Takes vital signs, administers medications, collects lab specimens, assists with diagnostic tests and procedures, and sterilizes medical equipment.
• Provides emotional support to patients and their families.
• Schedules appointments and ensures patient safety.
• Responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and triage situations.
