About The Position

Under general supervision and according to established procedures, provides basic medical assistance to physicians/providers and nurses by providing basic preparation of patients according to area specific Policy and Procedures including but not limited to vital signs, chart preparation, phlebotomy, procedure assistance and lab sample collection. Utilizes department specific computer systems for entry and retrieval of patient data.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Less than one year of previous work-related experience.
• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Must have and maintain current certification or registration from an accredited institution (e.g., AAMA, NHA, AMT).
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic medical assistance to physicians/providers and nurses.
• Prepare patients according to area specific Policy and Procedures.
• Take vital signs and prepare charts.
• Assist with phlebotomy and lab sample collection.
• Utilize department specific computer systems for patient data entry and retrieval.
