Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Technical/Vocational School.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• BLS Certification (condition of employment).
• Certified or Registered medical assistant certification from an AdventHealth approved certified body.

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of Florida Statues Title XXXII: Regulations of Professionals and Occupations.
• Assists in various aspects of medical practice under the direct supervision of a physician.
• Manages patient care and performs administrative and clinical procedures.
• Reviews appointment bookings in advance and ensures patients receive appointment reminders.
• Verifies and validates insurance prior to appointment date.
• Completes check-in process, securing copays and balance amounts.
• Verifies consent forms are completed and up to date.
• Maintains timely flow of patients and keeps patients informed of any delays.
• Responds to and returns incoming telephone calls in a timely manner.
