About The Position

As a Certified Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate for our Astera Urology office. Y ou will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of our new Urology practice in East Brunswick. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management and communicate with accuracy, quality and timeliness.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Medical office experience (1 year preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant
• BLS Cert
• Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary (1 year preferred)
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Must be willing to travel to other locations

Nice To Haves

• Medical office experience (1 year preferred)

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs and EKG
• Room patients
• Prepare patients for examination
• Obtain and update patient medication
• Administer Injections
• Authorizing prescription refills as directed by physicians
• Assist In Vasectomy , Cystoscopy and Biopsy Procedures.
• Cleaning and Sterilizing Surgical Instruments.
• Clinical Supply inventory
• Collect Urine/Blood Specimens
• Surgical Scheduling
• Prior Authorizations for medications and radiology
• Refills, Lab Orders, Lab results
• PAT's in Progress
• Utilize EMR System, Microsoft Teams, Excel and Additional Hospital EMRs
• Customer Service (greet patients and engage with providers/staff/vendors)
• Check In/ Check Out
• Clerical duties
