About The Position

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley has been deeply connected to the community we serve since 1956. We are comprised of a 50-bed acute care medical center, level IV trauma center, level II intensive care nursery services, extensive physical rehabilitation program, outpatient surgery and diagnostic center and advanced wound care center. The position involves performing non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required
• Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred
• Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT): Required

Responsibilities

• Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients.
• Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.
• Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician.
• Performs audiometry and vision testing.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
