About The Position

The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider. Performs office duties as needed, which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays, and scheduling necessary appointments.

Requirements

• 1 year of practical medical assisting experience or graduate of a medical assistant program in lieu of experience
• Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following: AAMA for CMA, AMCA for CMAC, AMT for RMA, NAHP for NRCMA, NCCT for NCMA, NHA for CCMA, ARMA for RMA
• Current, valid BLS certification is required
• Ability to communicate in English

Responsibilities

• Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately
• Perform clinical intakes
• Aid in minor procedures as necessary per specialty
• Ensure practice flow by preparing patient and equipment for treatment
• Follow safety processes and policies to ensure proper care is given
