The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. The incumbent performs the duties described below in accordance with the specific needs of the practice. If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certificate of completion or Diploma from a medical assistant program.
  • Completion of Guild MedCerts medical assistant certification course AND certificate of completion from OSF applied learning program.
  • At least 6 months experience in Certified Medical Assistant role OR proof of completion of on-the-job training/education program for certified medical assisting in another healthcare organization.
  • Current certification by one of the following approved certifying agencies: AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, AAH.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with an electronic health record.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, BLS through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Benefits

  • Expected pay for this position is $20.41 - $24.01/hour.
  • MOA Pay for this position is $18.85-$21.21/hour.
  • Candidates with 5+ years of direct experience as a CMA will receive 24 hours of Vacation and Holiday time available for use beginning day 1.
