Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Basic clinical skills including vital signs, documentation, and communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively with providers and staff
  • Proficient with EMR systems

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy certification or equivalent experience
  • Six months of experience working as an LPN
  • Experience in outpatient or physician office settings

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for patient visits by reviewing schedules, checking for test results, and ensuring exam rooms are stocked and clean.
  • Escort patients to rooms, confirm visit reasons, document interviews, and assist with mobility as needed.
  • Take and record vital signs accurately, alert providers of abnormal findings.
  • Assist providers during exams, anticipate needs, and help maintain schedule flow.
  • Perform clinical procedures as ordered, including but not limited to: EKG, spirometry, immunizations, throat cultures, phlebotomy, and dressing changes.
  • Handle patient communications related to prescriptions, test results, and triage; follow up appropriately per protocol.
  • Document all patient interactions and care activities in the EMR.
  • Schedule and coordinate testing/consultations, providing written and verbal instructions to patients.
  • Maintain and sanitize equipment, monitor inventory, rotate medications, and check temperature logs.
  • Comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and internal policies; support infection control practices.
  • Provide high-quality phlebotomy services and manage specimen handling and transport.
  • Promote positive patient experiences and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and support a positive, efficient workplace.
  • Display initiative, adaptability, and use resources responsibly.
