About The Position

MUSC Children's Specialty Clinics located at Summey Medical Pavilion is a multi-specialty pediatric practice operating Monday through Friday from 8am until 5pm. Care Team Members provide direct patient care and assist with care coordination for a variety of patients of varying complexities. Joining our team will present you with an opportunity to collaborate with a variety of clinical experts and to learn something new every day while caring for our very special pediatric population! The Children's Specialties team is engaged, high-performing, and supportive.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification through AMT, AAMA, NHA, or MedCA as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Considerable knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care.
• Assist with care coordination for a variety of patients.
• Provide patient/family centered care, acting as partner and adviser.
• Assist and support patients and families to optimally manage their health care.
• Apply critical reasoning and astute clinical judgment.
• Assist medical staff with preparation, examination, and procedures.
• Document findings relevant to patients' health care status or plan of care.
• Participate in recording and reporting responsibilities.
• Clean and stock examination rooms and/or other supply areas.
