Work Shift Day (United States of America) Job Summary: The Advanced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) functions under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor or Office/Practice Manager and serves as a clinical resource and a role model for other team members (i.e., medical assistants, students/externs, and trainees). This role is recognized as a leader in the profession of medical assisting via participation and advancement through the WMG MA Ladders Program. Through participation in the Program, the MA has demonstrated a commitment to clinical excellence, medical group and community involvement, and professional development. Advanced CMA recognizes patient's needs and symptoms in advance, escalates appropriately, and follows physician's orders to provide care (including preparing patients for exams and assisting during treatments) and demonstrates competency and skills to serve patients of all ages including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, as applicable. The Advanced CMA serves as a preceptor, proficient in instructing and/or educating other team members of competencies and skills with strong communication and critical thinking skills, demonstrating professionalism even in difficult and fast-paced environments. The Advanced CMA has a proven track record of attendance and punctuality and exemplifies consistent adherence to policies and procedures. Under the direction/supervision of the WMG Nursing Leadership Team, Nurse Supervisor, and/or Office/Practice Manager, the Advanced CMA will promote clinical competency, prepare, and lead daily huddles, and maintain clinical quality. This includes but not limited to quality control logs, emergency equipment, inventories of medications and supplies, and programs (e.g., VFC), and survey readiness as it relates to back office clinical operations.
