About The Position

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant/Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team! JOB SUMMARY: Helps patients by providing clinical and business office assistance in the offices and clinics of health care providers, such as, physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, and optometrists. The LPN provide direct and indirect patient care in the clinic setting. He/she communicates with providers/nurse manager/co-workers as appropriate, about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic evaluation and changes in patient condition or symptomatology. The nurse will be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment, and avail his or herself of all training, skills and ability commonly developed through attainment of licensure in their field. The nurse may also have inventory/ordering responsibilities in addition to clinical responsibilities, and will expected to cross train in additional areas of clinic responsibilities including laboratory rapid assays, reception and radiographic studies. Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting program accredited by the National HealthCare Association (NHA) or its successor, the Committee on Allied Health Education (CAHEA), or its successor, Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or its successor; or any accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • BLS certification within two weeks of hire
  • Clinical Skills may be specific to the clinical setting but may include capillary blood withdrawal, venipuncture, intradermal. Subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, EKGS, respiratory testing, lab tests classified as “waived” under CLIA, and administering medication only by unit, or single dosage. Dosage calculated medications must be verified by a healthcare practitioner
  • 6 months required experience
  • Basic computer skills necessary
  • English, Medical terminology, Grammar, Spelling & punctuation
  • Must be able to accurately calculate drug dosing and drip rates for IV therapy
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
  • Can concentrate for long periods of time in order to complete assigned tasks with a better than average attention span in order to listen, read and remember verbal and written instructions
  • Can understand input from the supervisor and/or manager concerning errors and instructions
  • Effectively communicates with administration, managers, and staff
  • Exceptional customer service and telephone etiquette
  • Requires ability to work independently and with groups/teams as both project leader and team member
  • Requires attention to detail and ability to assimilate large amounts of information from various sources
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and can work effectively with a diversity of personalities
  • Must be able to handle conflict issues with both patients and staff

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certification Preferred
  • Completion of IV certification course preferred
  • 2-5 yrs clinical experience preferred
