About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant Lead at Novant Health Steelecreek Family is responsible for coordinating and assisting healthcare providers to ensure safe, quality, and cost-effective service for the practice population. This role involves maintaining communication with clerical departments and physicians, acting as a point of contact in the absence of a clerical supervisor, and modeling leadership qualities for team members. The CMA Lead will also manage day-to-day clinical operations, including ordering clinical supplies and maintaining inventories.

Requirements

  • Previous work in a medical setting is preferred.
  • Must have at least one year of supervised medical assistant experience within the last three years for NHA or NHCWA certification eligibility.
  • Must have at least two years of experience for NCCT or NAHP certification eligibility.
  • Must have at least three years of experience for ARMA certification eligibility.
  • Must have at least five years of experience for AMT certification eligibility, with no more than two years as an instructor in a post-secondary medical assistant program.
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing is acceptable.
  • Experience must include both clinical (including medication administration) and administrative duties.
  • CMA certification with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or equivalent certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the practice population.
  • Maintain communication with clerical practice departments and physicians to address and respond to issues/concerns.
  • Act as the go-to person in the absence of a clerical supervisor.
  • Model leadership qualities for other team members.
  • Work with a sense of urgency, ownership, and accuracy in clinical operations.
  • Order or assist with ordering clinical supplies, linens, and pharmaceuticals, and maintain inventories and required logs/documentation.
  • Responsible for day-to-day clinical operations.
