About The Position

Responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical
setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the
interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations to
provide excellent patient care. Serves as a patient advocate and assist patients
in navigation along the care continuum with the goal of facilitating effective
quality care and timeliness, resulting in improved patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
• Documents appropriate correspondence, assessments, and care in patient's electronic medical records (EMR).
• Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
• Monitors environment for compliance with continual accreditation readiness and evaluates practice schedule for changes or updates.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the certified medical assistant scope of practice, incorporating elements of holistic patient-centered and team-based care.
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
• Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
• Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
