About The Position

AMG Heart Success is seeking a Per Diem Certified Medical Assistant for Morristown NJ, located in Morristown Medical Center. The role involves providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. The Medical Assistant will collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure the functionality of practice operations to provide excellent patient care. Responsibilities include ensuring medical facilities run smoothly, working in clerical, administrative, or clinical capacities, and performing specialized tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT
• Precertification agreement must be signed if expired or receiving certification within 60 days of employment

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field
• 1 year of experience in Health Care services
• 2+ Years Experience in outpatient, ambulatory setting
• BLS upon hire
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR system
• Ability to work within computer systems

Responsibilities

• Handles patient intake and updates medical records
• Administers appropriate screening tools
• Records medical information and test results
• Conducts patient interviews and takes vital signs
• Collects specimens and administers medication under physician supervision
• Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits
• Ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps them arrive at scheduled appointments on time
• Greets patients and welcomes them to the facility
• Schedules appointments for patients
• Maintains medical records and records patient medical histories and vital signs in the computer system
• Cleans patient rooms and sanitizes between visits
• Preps examination rooms and ensures they are ready for patients
• Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care
• Assists with referrals of patients to appropriate specialists for diagnosis or treatment
• Performs other related duties as assigned
