About The Position

The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of Florida Statues Title XXXII: Regulations of Professionals and Occupations. Chapter 458. Medical Assistants assist in various aspects of medical practice until the direct supervisor and responsibility of a physician. Responsibilities may include patient care management, administrative and clinical procedures. In all practice endeavors the medical Assistant will adhere to ethical and professional practice. The CMA/RMA II role begins the leadership ladder through expertise in a specialty, training and precepting new team members or externs, assists with evaluating current workflows and patient experience needs to improve the standards of care.

Requirements

High School Grad or Equiv Required
0 Work Experience Required
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Required
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Required

Responsibilities

Responds to and returns telephone calls related to clinical needs, triages appropriately, and assists with referrals as needed.
Performs Point of Care Tests, phlebotomy, and assists with various procedures such as ECGs, ear lavage, vaccines, and wound care.
Completes logs for CLIA compliance and other regulatory requirements, and follows policies on cleaning and sterilization of instruments.
Assists with the completion of prior authorizations, workers compensation paperwork, and other administrative tasks.
