Duke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of Duke Health's mission across the state of North Carolina. We are seeking a Part Time Medical Assistant, Certified in our Fertility Center located in Morrisville, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Requirements

• Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
• High school or GED graduation required.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit information, and other clinical information as indicated.
• Perform telephone message taking with patients, document encounter, follow protocols established by clinic leadership, and inform provider.
• Administer medications to patients as ordered by providers or by established protocols following the six rights of medication administration.
• Assist providers with procedures such as saline infused sonograms, hysteroscopies, ultrasounds, and other bedside procedures.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
• Assist in procedural area.
• Perform tasks such as set up for clinical procedures, high level disinfection & sterilization or other miscellaneous appropriate tasks within scope of practice.
• Perform venipuncture using correct techniques.
• Float in clinic to cover patient and provider needs as delegated by nurse manager, health center administrator, charge nurse, or nurse team lead. This may include a weekend and/or holiday rotation.
