About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Direct Access Coordinator (CMA) is responsible for receiving colon cancer screening referrals from outside providers and determining patient eligibility for scheduling a colonoscopy over the phone. The Direct Access Coordinator will call each patient and review physician written protocols for the Direct Access Program. The Direct Access Coordinator will also review monthly colon cancer screening recall reports and call patients after they receive their first letter. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent, required Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited program, required BLS/CPR certification, preferred One (1) year of experience in the related field, preferred QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Ability to maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced and stressful situations/timelines Ability and desire to learn new technologies Must be timely and dependable Must be able to multi-task, work independently and be very detail oriented Must have excellent written and oral communication skills Must be able to complete documentation accurately Must be able to follow existing workflows PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day Constant keyboarding by means of a traditional keyboard. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or reaching, both overhead and at or below shoulder level Constant communication (including speaking and hearing) both face to face and over the phone WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM
