Requirements

Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA or equivalent); Current or Must be attained within three (3) months of hire.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous job experience in delivering exceptional customer service
Competent use of personal computers and software programs including Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point)
Previous experience with EMR systems.
One year experience in physician’s practice setting.

Responsibilities

Performs clerical and clinical duties under the direction of a physician and or registered nurse.
Clerical duties may include scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, and maintaining medical records.
Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patient for examination and administering medications as directed by physician.
