Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
  • Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Must hold current or obtain within three (3) months of hire.
  • Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

  • The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties that assist in the delivery of effective patient care within the assigned area.
  • Greets patients, escorts them to the exam room, and performs vitals and other related MA duties.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medical practice and patient care as it relates to the clinical setting and medical specialty.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
