About The Position

Located at the Adult Outpatient Pavilion, the Infectious Disease Clinic serves a diverse patient population from birth to geriatric for a wide range of cases such as HIV+ requiring lifetime treatment, cardiac transplant patients with post-op infections and general adult ID cases. As a champion of affordable care, we are a part of the Ryan White Program which helps provide funding to HIV+ individuals who are in need of assistance for their treatments. Our clinic emphasizes the importance of teamwork and diversity in the workplace. We are excited to add an experienced CMA to our team! 16 hours/week, weekday daytime hours only The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician.

Requirements

Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as, the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists, The National Association of Healthcare Professions, the American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Healthcare Association.
AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if individual is not a graduate of a medical assistant program
No work experience if individual is a graduate of a medical assistant program
Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft, e-mail, etc.
Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
Previous experience in an academic health care environment
Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
