About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide in-home support for clients living with Parkinson’s disease and various forms of dementia. This is a non-skilled home care role, focused on personal assistance, observation, and support — not skilled nursing. The ideal candidate has strong clinical fundamentals, patience, and experience working with seniors experiencing cognitive or mobility challenges. Our mission is to provide safe, respectful, and dignity-centered care that allows clients to remain comfortable in their own homes.

Requirements

  • Current CMA (AAMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants
  • Active CPR/BLS certification
  • Experience working with seniors, Parkinson’s, or dementia clients preferred
  • Understanding of non-skilled home care scope of practice
  • Ability to work independently in a client’s home
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Clear background check
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility
  • Provide Parkinson’s-specific mobility support (gait assistance, fall prevention awareness)
  • Support clients with dementia through structured routines and redirection techniques
  • Monitor and document vital signs as directed
  • Observe and report changes in physical or cognitive condition to supervising staff
  • Assist with medication reminders (no medication administration unless within scope and agency policy)
  • Provide companionship and cognitive engagement activities
  • Maintain a safe and clean home environment
  • Document care provided and client observations accurately
  • Communicate effectively with families and care coordinators
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures
  • Recognize early warning signs of decline and report appropriately
