Terms and Conditions apply The Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician. Functions under direction of a licensed independent, practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care Emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing, and unit policy/procedure. Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor: Time/schedule changes; legal issues; directed care which deviates from, standard; and identify educational resources to meet developmental needs. Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies. Medical Assistants work all three shifts, weekends and, holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established, with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations, and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet clinic, requirements and/or as needed.

  • Functions under direction of a licensed independent, practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care Emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing, and unit policy/procedure.
  • Handling, transportation, access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
  • One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if the individual is not a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • No prior work experience required if the individual is a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft, e-mail, etc.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
