Position Purpose: The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) works closely under the direction of a licensed provider to deliver high-quality patient care. This role is essential for ensuring a smooth and efficient clinical environment, providing basic patient assessment and support, and assisting in administrative duties. The CMA also participates in community outreach initiatives to promote health and wellness. Requirements

  • High School diploma required; graduate of a medical technical school preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and CPR certification required.
  • Six months to one-year experience in a health-related field.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and basic lab procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA guidelines.
  • Foreign language skills may be required.
  • Valid GA driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic patient assessment procedures, including vital signs and infection control.
  • Assist with patient care for adults, geriatric patients, and occasionally infants and adolescents.
  • Conduct phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures.
  • Interpret for clients and staff as applicable.
  • Monitor and order medical supplies under the guidance of the Nurse Practitioner or Clinic Manager.
  • Assist with EKG procedures and other clinical tasks as directed by the medical provider.
  • Participate in health fairs or community events on weekends (3-4 times a year).
