About The Position

The PRN Chaplain at AdventHealth Riverview provides spiritual care and support to patients, families, and staff during night shifts. This role involves assisting the lead chaplain and resident chaplain in the Pastoral Care department, focusing on patient visitation, managing volunteer teams, and participating in spiritual events within the hospital. The chaplain is integral to the healthcare team, addressing the spiritual and emotional needs of individuals in a compassionate and respectful manner.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year experience in an ecumenical setting or completed 2 or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
• Ministerial credentials from a church or denomination.
• Certificate of completion of most recent CPE units.
• Proof of completion or continuing education towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in religion or theology.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead chaplain and resident chaplain in the Pastoral Care department.
• Perform patient visitation and provide spiritual support.
• Be on call for spiritual care needs.
• Manage the volunteer visitation team.
• Participate in spiritual events within the hospital.
