About The Position

White Sands, a HumanGood life plan community (CCRC) in beautiful La Jolla, CA, is seeking a full-time PM Shift Certified Med Tech. You would develop awareness of residents’ interests and needs and assist residents to maximize their independence. You would help create a safe environment in which to provide care. SHIFTS: 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. 4/2 Rotation PAY RANGE: $23.00-$25.00/hour You would be responsible for assisting our residents with their activities of daily living which include: Engaging in our philosophy for “Person-Directed Care”; Providing effective and courteous service to all residents, family members, guests, and team members; is clear in communication and handles conflicts appropriately Assists resident with prescribed medications and maintains related medical records under supervision of the qualified nurse supervisor Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, route, and time of administration on specified forms or records; Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures according to the local state guidelines Ensures safe, accurate assistance with resident medication, including physician order verification, interaction with pharmacies, checking medications for accuracy/correctness Review and complete the Medication Administration Record (MAR) to record the physician orders and medications Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered Will ensure assistance of resident’s medication in a timely manner as prescribed by physician’s orders May take vital signs or observe resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions; (This function is only performed to the extent provided for by state regulation). Facilitate medication orders as required Monitors stock of medical supplies and orders new supplies as needed Completes Weekly Audits of MARS and notifies Director or supervisor of audit results and needed corrective action Documents appropriate daily records and in resident’s charts Collects lab specimens and take vital signs as needed Responds to emergency situations Reports acute observations to appropriate party (Physician, Director of Wellness, Director of Residential Care, AL Charge Nurse) Charts observations, evaluations and relevant resident conditions Assist the Licensed Nurse with the Clinic administrative duties as assigned Attends in-service training workshops and meetings as required Promotes and protects the rights of each resident Completes Incident Reports as needed May act as a resource to the Director of Wellness, Director of Residential Care, Residential Care Nurse, and/or AL Charge Nurse Perform other necessary functions/duties as assigned by Leadership Mission Essential You would display behavior that supports the mission, vision, behaviors and values of HumanGood. Responsibilities

  • Engaging in our philosophy for “Person-Directed Care”

  • Assists resident with prescribed medications and maintains related medical records under supervision of the qualified nurse supervisor
  • Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, route, and time of administration on specified forms or records
  • Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures according to the local state guidelines
  • Ensures safe, accurate assistance with resident medication, including physician order verification, interaction with pharmacies, checking medications for accuracy/correctness
  • Review and complete the Medication Administration Record (MAR) to record the physician orders and medications
