About The Position

Hendrick Automotive Group is the largest privately owned dealership group in the USA with almost 100 dealerships nationally. As we continue to grow, we are looking for GM and ASE Certified Automotive/Diesel Technician to join our team. We are a place where your expertise and passion for gas, EV, and diesel engines will be valued and rewarded. Up to a $10,000 sign on bonus is available for highly qualified candidates. Our generous pay plan can reward proficient technicians well into the six figures! Non-General Motors certified technicians are encouraged to apply as well. We have climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facilities and are looking for new teammates to help us continue our record service growth! We have 5 triangle-area Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac locations that are looking to add to their team.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as an Automotive Diesel Technician (e.g., ASE certification).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with diesel engines and systems.
  • 5 years of experience working at a dealership.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of diesel engine components and repair techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Experience with electronic engine management systems.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in an automotive repair environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy parts and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with various brands such as Ford, Chevrolet, Buick GMC, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Infiniti, Tesla, Porsche, Audi, VW, Acura, Lexus, Mazda.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engine systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Guide junior technicians or apprentices as needed.
  • Estimate cost of repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and comprehensive repairs on diesel vehicles.
  • Maintain repair records.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and technologies in diesel engine repair and diagnostics.
