About The Position

Goldfish Swim School is looking for a Director of Water Safety to join our Springfield location. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fun and rewarding environment while making a difference in the lives of children. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Instructor Certification.
• 1 year experience in Supervising or Management.
• 1 year aquatics experience - Lifeguarding, coaching, teaching, and/or supervising.
• Strong organizational, computer, and training skills.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple situations.
• High level of energy and a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a leadership role within an aquatics environment.
• Strong communication skills to build trust and relationships.
• Problem-solving skills and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility safety and E&A Lifeguards, maintaining 'Exceeds Expectations.'
• Direct, train, maintain, and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures.
• Perform routine safety audits and equipment checks.
• Run monthly E&A Certifications.
• Prepare monthly scenario rotation & oversee completion per shift.
• Conduct Scenario Form Audits and report scores.
• Plan meaningful monthly safety in-services.
• Oversee Deck Supervisor team in upholding safety standards.
• Ensure Lifeguards maintain test-readiness and vigilance.
• Maintain staff certifications - all staff must be BLS certified.
• Maintain Certification Binder for those certified outside of Ellis.
• Stay up to date with all Ellis changes and inform the team.
• Gain knowledge and experience in GSS pool operations necessary for a safe swim environment.
• Participate in all role shifts to remain proficient in GSS aquatics and sales standards.
