About The Position

We are seeking a Certified Industrial Hygienist/Project Manager to join our Safety and Industrial Hygiene team in Windsor, CT with 10+ years of experience in the indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, safety and hazardous building materials industries, and be accredited as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). This individual may work from varied locations in Connecticut.

Requirements

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) accreditation is required
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering related field
  • 10+ years of experience in the indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, safety and hazardous building materials industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios
  • Intuitive and creative thinker
  • Understanding of their surroundings and reason the services are being provided
  • A consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers / clients and offers solutions when needed
  • Work as a team player, coordinate with others within the practice group and instruct/teach junior field staff
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical and motor vehicle records check

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Microbial Consultant (CMC) licenses are preferred but not necessarily required

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and conduct indoor air quality and industrial hygiene assessments
  • Develop industrial hygiene sampling programs and create exposure assessment profiles
  • Develop, manage and perform moisture intrusion/mapping and microbial assessments, including preparation of work plans for remediation efforts
  • Manage and perform IH assessments and develop hazard control recommendations relative to Ventilation, Noise, Radiation, PPE, Toxic and Hazardous Substances, Mercury, Odor/VOCs, Nuisance/Combustible Dust, Silica, Process Safety Management, Health & Safety Management Systems and Construction /Occupational Safety
  • Manage and perform testing and mitigation design services relative to airborne and waterborne Radon
  • Interact and communicate with clients, contractors and regulatory agency representatives
  • Prepare investigative/assessment reports
  • Prepare project specifications and drawings
  • Mentor and teach junior field staff
  • Coordinate and interact with other CIHs & CSPs throughout the Building Sciences Practice nationwide, including both the Industrial Hygiene and Safety Services National Service Leaders
  • Travel throughout Massachusetts and greater New England expected
  • Conduct Business development, prepare proposals, manage projects and invoice for services
  • Coordination, management and execution of regulated materials surveys for asbestos-containing materials, lead-based paint PCB's, universal wastes etc.
  • Preparation of regulated materials survey reports, abatement specifications, work plans, and Operation and Maintenance programs
  • Manage regulated materials abatement oversight and air monitoring services
