About The Position

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment in multiple buildings at multiple campuses.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in HVAC&R, Electrical, Plumbing or closely related field required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, along with industry standard certification and/or extensive work experience may be considered in place of Associate degree.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience in a specific field of HVAC&R, electrical installation/repair or plumbing required.
  • Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Current refrigerant transition and recovery certificate required.
  • PA Child History clearance
  • PA Criminal Record Check clearance
  • FBI Federal Criminal History Record clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial HVAC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration and boiler systems are operational on a daily basis.
  • Initiate ordering parts utilizing appropriate processes to facilitate timely repair of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Maintain heating and air-conditioning systems to control proper temperature and heat loss.
  • Ensure all College boilers are operational each day.
  • Install HVAC equipment and electrical components into equipment and ensure equipment meets regulatory requirements.
  • Complete work assignments in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agency standards.
  • Complete work orders and return them to the appropriate location within the Facilities & Grounds Department.
  • Maintain an up to date inventory of all HVAC parts and equipment.
  • Initiate and perform preventative maintenance as scheduled on all mechanical equipment at all College facilities.
  • Respond to emergency situations that may arise at all College locations.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date with professional credentials best practices and current disciplines including continued educational requirements through certifications, seminars, training programs, etc.
  • Maintain and develop work related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional and cross training opportunities.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  • Perform additional grade level support duties as assigned.
