The Nurses Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. Requirements
- Successful completion of a State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program.
- Registration with State registry required.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to document care given.
- Wears appropriate non-slip footwear.
- Compliance with Vantage Point COVID-19 Vaccination Policy is required for this position. Please refer to the policy for details in the Employee Handbook. All Vantage Point employees may access the Vaccination Policy via their Human Resources Dept, Department Director, Executive Director and/or Administrator
Nice To Haves
- Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
- Gives treatments, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
- Changes bed linens, makes beds and keeps rooms clean and orderly.
- Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
- Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated.
- Enters data daily into ADL book or inputs EMR Documentation into Vision.
- Performs full body inspection weekly and notifies Charge Nurse of any altered skin status.
- Assures that resident is adequately hydrated to maintain health status.
- Answers signal lights promptly.
