Certified Forklift Operator
About The Position
Skillforce is seeking a Certified Forklift Operator for an ongoing project in Grapevine, Tx. This position is responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and organize goods in compliance with safety regulations. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to prevent accidents and damage to products or equipment. Ultimately, the role supports the overall supply chain by facilitating timely and accurate handling of materials, contributing to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Valid forklift operator certification as required by OSHA
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety protocols and material handling procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret inventory documentation and work orders.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, standing, and operating machinery for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with different types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and pallet jacks.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
- Additional certifications related to workplace safety or equipment operation.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move goods within the facility.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, and storage racks while ensuring product integrity.
- Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and assist with stock organization and cycle counts.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to coordinate material flow and optimize storage space.
- Assist in training new forklift operators on safe operating procedures and company standards.
